What to expect from training
You do not need any aviation experience to get started. Here is what the path generally looks like, from your first conversation with our team to earning your pilot certificate.
Call or email our office to schedule an introductory lesson. You will fly with an instructor, try the controls, and see what training feels like before making a larger commitment.
If you decide to continue, we will help you choose an instructor and build a training schedule around your goals and availability.
Your instructor will help you understand when to apply for a student pilot certificate and the medical certificate needed before your first solo flight.
Start learning how the airplane works and how to fly it safely. Ground lessons help you understand the weather, airspace, and decisions behind each flight.
Once your instructor determines you are ready, you will make your first solo flight. Training then expands into navigation and flying to other airports.
You will complete the FAA knowledge test and prepare for the practical test with your instructor. Passing the checkride earns your private pilot certificate.
Keep flying for yourself or continue into instrument, commercial, and flight instructor training. Your next step depends on where you want aviation to take you.
