APPLY AS A FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR

We want instructors who bring strong technical knowledge to the airplane and know how to explain it in a way that works for each student.

INSTRUCTION FIRST

Each student understand the lesson, not simply complete it. Our instructors are patient, supportive, and committed to building each student’s knowledge and confidence throughout the learning process.

Strong technical foundation

CFI and CFII applicants should be comfortable with modern avionics and able to explain aircraft systems accurately and clearly. Experience with Garmin glass-panel equipment is considered valuable.

SOUND JUDGMENT

Our instructors set the example for safe decision making. We look for people who communicate concerns early and make conservative choices when conditions require it.

PROFESSIONAL SERVICE

Students remember how they were treated as much as what they learned. Patience, reliability and honest communication are important parts of the job.

Instructors teach in a modern training fleet at Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport with support from experienced pilots. It is a place to sharpen your teaching, serve your students well and continue working toward your own aviation goals.
